We invite scholarly contributions for a special issue of Intercultural Relations focusing on Africa’s global entanglements: past and present. The issue seeks critical engagements with Africa’s cultural, political, and historical circulations, especially in relation to diaspora, transnationalism, and global epistemologies.

We are particularly interested in work addressing the legacies of slavery and colonialism, and how these histories continue to shape African and diasporic identities, mobilities, and cultural production. Submissions that rethink Africa’s agency within global frameworks are especially welcome.
