The AAS in partnership with the European Union, IRD, CNRS, and Millennium University, is pleased to convene the ARISE Scientific Showcasing Event focused on mental health interventions and research.
Taking place on 4 September 2026 in Blantyre, Malawi, the event will bring together scientists, mental health practitioners, policymakers, university leaders and development partners to share knowledge, build partnerships and strengthen the impact of mental health research and interventions in Africa.

EYE ON AFRICA: MSU African Studies Center Bi-weekly Speaker Series
Eye on Africa is a bi-weekly seminar series that provides scholars, policy-makers, applied practitioners, students, and the interested public with cutting-edge and highly-contextualized knowledge about the African continent. Emerging and established scholars share the results of their recent research, with time for audience questions and comments. The series draws on a diverse group of presenters to create an inclusive, holistic view of African history, social movements, the economy, and politics.

Transforming futures: Enhancing practice for ESD for 2030 through action research: Guidance tools launch
UNESCO is pleased to announce the launch of the publications developed under the Transforming futures: Enhancing practice for ESD for 2030 through action research project, bringing together education stakeholders, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners worldwide.
Through this project, UNESCO worked with the global ESD for 2030 Network to strengthen institutional capacity and generate evidence through action research across ten countries, engaging 41 institutions including UNESCO Chairs, higher education institutions, and ASPnet schools.
The webinar will take place on 17 September 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00 CET.
