AAP Bridge is an online platform that allows users to connect and collaborate with others within the AAP consortium network and beyond. Users can build their profile, create posts, share articles and research, and find or post grants and fellowships. Connections can be made between users, based on shared interest in research or funding opportunities, which allows for direct messaging among team members to streamline collaboration across the consortium.
AAP Bridge is open to everyone! Anyone from within and outside the AAP member consortium can now join AAP Bridge. The Bridge platform has been created with scholars, students, early career researchers, faculty, administrators, and others in mind. Additionally, the website is designed to amplify the voices of Africans and African research, which are often underrepresented and underfunded. AAP Bridge is made for any individual to share interests of any region, research topic, or professional background. In short, AAP Bridge is for all!
Users can indicate that they are interested in a grant/funding opportunity they find on AAP Bridge by checking the “Interested in this grant?” box. This will signal to other users that you may be interested in teaming up to respond to the call. This can be done by clicking the “Start a collaborative group” on the grant page and inviting interested users to the group. This is a simple and efficient way to find and respond to funding calls with other interested applicants from across AAP member universities.
AAP Bridge is a constantly evolving and improving platform, with regular updates and implementation of new features. This year, the Bridge has undergone a system-wide upgrade that showcases a visual overhaul, file collection and sharing function, and opens the platform beyond our consortium. Features to be expected in the future include calendar functions for events and a mobile app for on-the-go use.
