Position: Postdoctoral Fellow in the Political Economy of African Critical Minerals

York University's Department of Politics is offering a 1-year fellowship (renewable) to study the dynamics of critical mineral extraction in Southern Africa, focusing on countries like the DRC, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This is part of the SSHRC-funded project African Extractivism and the Green Transition (2023–2029).

💡 Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on extractive industries and critical minerals
• Publish in peer-reviewed journals and contribute policy briefings
• Organize seminars and mentor students

📝 Eligibility:

• PhD completed (2021-2024 preferred)
• Experience in research on extractive industries, fieldwork in Africa, and academic publishing

💰 Salary: $60,000 CAD/year with benefits
