Position: Postdoctoral Fellow in the Political Economy of African Critical Minerals

York University's Department of Politics is offering a 1-year fellowship (renewable) to study the dynamics of critical mineral extraction in Southern Africa, focusing on countries like the DRC, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This is part of the SSHRC-funded project African Extractivism and the Green Transition (2023–2029).
π‘ Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on extractive industries and critical minerals
 - Publish in peer-reviewed journals and contribute policy briefings
 - Organize seminars and mentor students
 
π Eligibility:
- PhD completed (2021-2024 preferred)
 - Experience in research on extractive industries, fieldwork in Africa, and academic publishing
 
π° Salary: $60,000 CAD/year with benefits
